Is bigger always better in brand partnerships?

As an athlete, coach, club or rights holder you're already probably really busy. So when you reach out for partnership it's hard to be sure who's hand to take. 🤝

One thing we're hearing repeatedly from clients recently is "I want to work with brand X because I love their kit".

We get it, who doesn't love stash?! 🤔👟

But boots don't pay the rent. Free kit only goes so far for so long.
Try to take a long term view - have a clear commercial or brand goal in mind, identify what you need to get there, and objectively select the partner that will get you there in the best way.

Imagine being on the No.1 brand's roster of athletes and never being used in content, never put on social channels or making appearances because they already have world beating players across the board. A drop in the ocean.

Consider instead the value of being the biggest fish in the pond of the brand at No.2 or 3, having your image used across multiple campaigns and appearing at all the live events you can handle. 🤩

So one thing we're repeatedly suggesting to clients recently is "It's ok and actually very smart to be selfish in your thinking sometimes, look at who can accelerate your journey to your goals"

Look at what you need, and who has it. 🤔
Look at what you have, and who wants it. 😉
Make a strategic decision, not a hypebeast one! 🧠
